Be Hope (full) – not hope (less)

hello and welcome

Some say we all have a story to tell, and some people like a good story. Most stories  have a beginning middle and end, however fans of huge films know there are often back stories, and stories before the stories and stories after the stories… never ending stories in my opinion are the best ones. Welcome to one of mine.

Regular visitors will notice many of my such stories, and you are invited to be a part of. In my experience people are looking for people who are real, transparent, evidence.. the good the bad the ugly.  My journey is real, it is raw, it sure is ugly, but it shaped me.

Back in November 2017 I was homeless, no roof over my head, spent a few nights on a sofa somewhere, and no money and no access to funds.

I had my car but that got smashed up by a deer running out in front of me and then I was car less as it got written off.

I had a min wage job with a small contract of hours which was OK at one point but later my circumstances were different and I was racking up debt.

I felt I had no where to go and did not know where to turn and how I cried, and yes I prayed……not in any religious way, but if there was a God or Deity or a ruling cosmos… I needed it now.

So there I was, no money, no home, but unbeknownst to me I had people who in their own ways helped me get where I am now from cooking meals, to offering to do washing, to cut my hair, to giving me lifts, to speaking to contacts to get me some bed n breakfast support if only for a few days, free drinks, bacon sandwiches to name a few things.

I will never be able to thank these people enough.

So I’d been homeless before and hungry and had no money so I knew I had to go into survivor mode or I was going to return to a dark path which I didn’t want to go down again.

It’s, I want to say amazing, but this isn’t the right word, it’s… Well in survivor mode you do what you have to do to survive. Some of you reading this will know what I’m talking about.

I was caught in a victim mentality.

On top of this I also had what’s called a poverty spirit . You folks can check these words out because let me tell you it’s a real thing, I’ll say it again I had a poverty spirit and I still do! (For those interested I will add a link to a great resources blog shortly)

This post is not about confessing of sins or any kind of epiphany, but the back story of my fight..

The fight to no longer be poor, the fight to gain self worth.

Investing is a key word at the moment for me, but instead of bitcoin my path is taking me to invest in myself and others. Your path may take you to different places.

In January I told myself I was fed up of being poor. I had dreams and ambitions, of writing, being a food and drink writer, being a mystery shopper (which I had wanted to do for ages) and making enough money to see my debts vanish.

Through sheer hard work I’ve nearly doubled my income and got a few tiny streams of income coming in, such as from cash back sites.

I have just discovered this video on income streams.. It is not what you may expect!

My credit card bill is paid, my overdraft is on its way to clearing, but I’ve cleared another overdraft and now have saving pots, all in just two months! *EDIT* MONTH 3 PAID!

I’m waking up of dreaming about earning money in my sleep, earning money before I go to my daytime job, researching ways to monetize my passions and I have not even started to scratch the surface yet.

It feels like I’m obsessed and for a while I aim to be and why, because I want to focus on my goal to get out of debt and have the tools in place to stay out!

I want to be able to buy what I or others want and need without going into debt or going without.   I want to run my car and not worry if I can afford the petrol, I want to afford a holiday even if its a cheap one because even the cheap ones cost.

Suddenly, instead of waiting and hoping for others to pay I’m offering to pay and its an unbelievable feeling.

“I want to encourage you all to keep dreaming, keep reaching high, aspire to do more, be more, but when you are on way up, help others.”

I still need to achieve my dream of having a book or a store and both but I got a long way to go and need more help yet.

Thanks to all who read and follow, I love reading your comments or blogs. Please do get in touch if you can relate.

Keep dreaming folks.

“love is patient, love is kind, love never gives up hope”

Love yourself because you owe it to yourself.

Never give up on hope!

Peace n love.

  1. Very candid and honest post. Thanks for sharing! Have you ever read any of Dave Ramsey’s books or listened to his radio show? You can watch it on YouTube even. He can have a bit of a tough love approach to personal finance and getting out of debt but his “baby steps” work, and work well. The whole point is to tackle one thing at a time so you aren’t doing too many little things at once, which tends to yield little progress. Good luck to you. Stay strong!

    1. Yes I’ve studied a few of his videos on you tube. Being in the UK time difference etc no I dnt pick up his radio shows. I love what he does and his approach does work. I’m learning to be faithful in the small things:)

    2. I’d happily reccomend dave Ramsey. In my other blog site on dad’s diary I made reference to him. I passionately believe baby steps is the way and also being open to learn, to give, to receive and work hard. Thank you for this comment, and great encouragement.
