Charity begins at home

Welcome,

I have had to re edit the title of this page a few times as it covers a few areas, but I think this title really says a lot in itself.

In all of my years of charity work, fundraising work it is so humbling when you see those who cannot afford to give  “give”. This is not to meant to be offensive in any way, I mean, who am I to say who cannot afford to give – I am, because I am one of the many who give without thinking, without counting the cost, whether we can afford to or not. We would give to another before our own need even if our need is greater! Together we are rich in different ways.

Welcome to my blog!

As the webpage address suggests “I am fed up of being poor” – this is not to point the finger at poor people and somehow  suggest they are less of a human being than me, but the opposite – It is my obligation, my duty, my calling, to help those in poverty or are praying that phrase with bated fed up, hopeless breath..sighing “I am fed up of being poor.”

If you follow my site, thank you so so much, I love you more than I will ever be able to repay your kindness….if you are not a follower yet – I hope you soon will be.

Bit Of  HIS STORY

Back in January, maybe just before, I was “invited” to a writing group, as someone who had told a friend that I was interested in writing. Now these were mostly already published authors of great books, online material, and here I was a small fry in a pan of big cheeses, no material, no idea, nadda, nothing, just some pumped up punk with a dream of writing something.

“Just write..” “Just do it”

So I began exploring with ideas…..and finally I came up with…..

yep –  rags to riches story.. and this would be amazingly transformational, world changing, would get 1000 followers… I would be the king on my throne people…

and then… of course..one person points out….”

“but you are still in rags!”

so here is my back story…… I am not going to try to sell anyone anything or convince anyone my way is going to make anyone rich, because I am still in overdraft…. but people let me tell you this man is on a mission!!!!

I am researching, I am studying, I am building this blog as my journal ..real, live, on line off line journal of little old me just trying to better myself and in the process support others  with what I am learning…. I am learning quick.

To recap

I am no expert at being rich but I am an expert in being poor and having no money.- but getting there.

I am still in some debt,(just) (ish) (a small bit)(manageable) It is possible to get out as I have done!

I have paid off huge amounts of debt in less than 3 months.

I have discovered great resources, communities, businesses, bloggers…

I have found a new love(s)… an online love of blogging and search for passive income 9-5 job just is not where I want to be.

I have helped lots of people.

I have been helped by lots of people – this is hard and humbling especially if you are someone who is a “giver” (keep it clean people) receiving and accepting help can be very hard.

I have discovered that you discover who are genuine and sincerely want to help! –  we all appreciate free things and generosity – we believe what goes around comes around. I am thankful for the huge support I have. It is good to get connected.

So……. this month has been a struggle because although it is my fault because I have overspent –  I now have to put into place the strategies and tips I have been bleating on about in my posts..

image of a sheep with open mouth making a bleating sound
who wants to be a bleating sheep or a sheep at all?

I have to walk my own walk and talk less of my own talk less bleating!

So here are my  Get out of debt  8 easy tips….

  1. Get help (could be internet, e.g google, you tube, websites) – Do some research…The throne room has some good resources.
  2. Do not be afraid to ask for help or too proud to receive help.
  3. Find ways to de-clutter and sell items – let us get some money coming in.
  4. If you have the opportunity to work, or do more hours take it up... suck it up for a short while, even if it is not ideal –  (Someone did suggest to me escorting – but that is not me.)
  5. Do a “talent and passions audit.” write down the things you are interested in doing and find ways to make money from it… i,e gaming, or walking the dog, or poetry, or writing, or selling…. seriously people there are ways of making money from doing almost anything.
  6. Do not talk about it….do it!
  7. Do not rely on others, trust in yourself.
  8. work work work! work for your dreams – it will pay off.

You are Worth More – keep your chin up!

Welcome,

Sir Winston Churchill once said.

” To each there comes in their lifetime a special moment when they are figuratively tapped on the shoulder and offered the chance to do a very special thing, unique to them and fitted to their talents. What a tragedy if that moment finds them unprepared or unqualified for that which could have been their finest hour”

I am contemplating life, I want much more, I want more time, more money, more freedom. I wonder if this at all possible.

I began researching, and I found inspiration and it actually was possible or so it appears.

Have you ever been told you are amazing but you don’t believe it!

Sometimes does it feel like you have that voice in your head that tells you, “you are not enough, not smart enough, not focused enough, not experienced enough, your body isn’t the way you would like, you are not good enough?”

Despite this, are you still that person that goes above and beyond, there for people, feels like you never stop, seem to be taken advantage of, but would still help others?

For me, it feels the more I do for others or myself, the more inadequate I feel, and I guess I am not alone in this!

I’m having a time in this small resting place just stopping and thinking.

I am having time out, taking a step back, and visiting this great holiday destination here in the uk in the East.

I am taking up reading, something I have not done for a while.

I’m on bargain break out the newspaper. I love a bargain, and love value for money!

Some people are into investing. ME ALSO, I am starting with investing in myself. Investing in my health, my education, my dreams.

I am reading a book called “Expert Secrets”.. The underground playbook for creating a mass movement of people who will pay for your advice.

This guy really speaks the language, down to earth, real, says it how it is.

Russell Brunson

It is making me realise, I am worth more.

A friend said when we chatted about work. I described what I did in my day job and the min wage I was on. They said… “you could do the same thing elsewhere for more money!”
They were right of course. They got me thinking about value and self worth.
Not all of us are paid what we are worth for what we do, but wouldn’t it be good if we did. Do all of us get the recognition we deserve or thanks?

I would like to take a step of faith and actually be as bold as to say if you are reading this blog today, you are worth more than you realise!

Raise your head high, keep going. Chin up!

If you need a chat, I am always online.

Money Tips- dream big, dream bigger

Welcome to my blog,

Question – How good are you at keeping secrets or sharing?

For the last few weeks I have been focusing on making money rather than saving money.

That said, I was excited to deposit money at the end of this month I had been saving into 3 pots, a christmas saving pot, a charity box, and another saving pot.

You may not think this in itself is amazing, however having never saved before or having an emergency fund or rainy day pot, those who also struggle with saving will also think this is huge, and it is huge…

I have hit a wall with income streams, and trying to trickle more money while searching for, “the big money makers” and getting no where (or so it seems)

I really want to know the insider secrets but I don’t want to buy software that may or may not deliver, I don’t want to invest in stocks or bit coin that I can lose on, I want certainties, assurances, genuineness, and trust.

My dream is to work from home, internet, or writing or research but also helping people to realise their dreams and seeing them soar and I can’ t do this by myself, I need you!

In my own journey i’ve seen people excited at saving that works for them through something I shared, seeing peoples face light up when I teach them things or open their eyes to opportunities. This is what excites me.!

I have seen how the strategies I have learned have enabled me in just 2 months, to clear credit card debt, over draft debt, save, pay for a holiday, have spare spending money, get a bigger place to live, buy a new car, (still second hand but vast up grade)

I know that this is a drop in the ocean and just the start for me.

I am dedicated, I love to learn, and I persevere.

I thank you all who follow me as I love your blogs or looking at what you do, and would love to connect with entrepreneurs who are interested or already mentor others. You folk inspire me but also scare me as I wish I was as successful.

I believe in the “pay it forward” ideology, so if you have any tips or secrets you could share with those struggling or just setting out, would be amazing.

If you are reading this and it’s you who needs support, drop me a line, i’m a good listener and sounding board.

Stay focused, keep dreaming people, You got this!

Remember dream big.

DREAM BIGGER!

Be Hope (full) – not hope (less)

hello and welcome

Some say we all have a story to tell, and some people like a good story. Most stories  have a beginning middle and end, however fans of huge films know there are often back stories, and stories before the stories and stories after the stories… never ending stories in my opinion are the best ones. Welcome to one of mine.

Regular visitors will notice many of my such stories, and you are invited to be a part of. In my experience people are looking for people who are real, transparent, evidence.. the good the bad the ugly.  My journey is real, it is raw, it sure is ugly, but it shaped me.

Back in November 2017 I was homeless, no roof over my head, spent a few nights on a sofa somewhere, and no money and no access to funds.

I had my car but that got smashed up by a deer running out in front of me and then I was car less as it got written off.

I had a min wage job with a small contract of hours which was OK at one point but later my circumstances were different and I was racking up debt.

I felt I had no where to go and did not know where to turn and how I cried, and yes I prayed……not in any religious way, but if there was a God or Deity or a ruling cosmos… I needed it now.

So there I was, no money, no home, but unbeknownst to me I had people who in their own ways helped me get where I am now from cooking meals, to offering to do washing, to cut my hair, to giving me lifts, to speaking to contacts to get me some bed n breakfast support if only for a few days, free drinks, bacon sandwiches to name a few things.

I will never be able to thank these people enough.

So I’d been homeless before and hungry and had no money so I knew I had to go into survivor mode or I was going to return to a dark path which I didn’t want to go down again.

It’s, I want to say amazing, but this isn’t the right word, it’s… Well in survivor mode you do what you have to do to survive. Some of you reading this will know what I’m talking about.

I was caught in a victim mentality.

On top of this I also had what’s called a poverty spirit . You folks can check these words out because let me tell you it’s a real thing, I’ll say it again I had a poverty spirit and I still do! (For those interested I will add a link to a great resources blog shortly)

This post is not about confessing of sins or any kind of epiphany, but the back story of my fight..

The fight to no longer be poor, the fight to gain self worth.

Investing is a key word at the moment for me, but instead of bitcoin my path is taking me to invest in myself and others. Your path may take you to different places.

In January I told myself I was fed up of being poor. I had dreams and ambitions, of writing, being a food and drink writer, being a mystery shopper (which I had wanted to do for ages) and making enough money to see my debts vanish.

Through sheer hard work I’ve nearly doubled my income and got a few tiny streams of income coming in, such as from cash back sites.

I have just discovered this video on income streams.. It is not what you may expect!

My credit card bill is paid, my overdraft is on its way to clearing, but I’ve cleared another overdraft and now have saving pots, all in just two months! *EDIT* MONTH 3 PAID!

I’m waking up of dreaming about earning money in my sleep, earning money before I go to my daytime job, researching ways to monetize my passions and I have not even started to scratch the surface yet.

It feels like I’m obsessed and for a while I aim to be and why, because I want to focus on my goal to get out of debt and have the tools in place to stay out!

I want to be able to buy what I or others want and need without going into debt or going without.   I want to run my car and not worry if I can afford the petrol, I want to afford a holiday even if its a cheap one because even the cheap ones cost.

Suddenly, instead of waiting and hoping for others to pay I’m offering to pay and its an unbelievable feeling.

“I want to encourage you all to keep dreaming, keep reaching high, aspire to do more, be more, but when you are on way up, help others.”

I still need to achieve my dream of having a book or a store and both but I got a long way to go and need more help yet.

Thanks to all who read and follow, I love reading your comments or blogs. Please do get in touch if you can relate.

Keep dreaming folks.

Never give up on hope!

Fed Up Of Being Poor The Journey Begins – Time to change that.

received_10214446284005297917723477900871555.png

Welcome!

A quote from Walt Disney.

Thanks for joining me!

welcomeYou are welcome here! Welcome to my home, my road my journey.
This is a work in progress, like me, journey of entrepreneurship, making money, saving money, reducing poverty, helping myself and helping others.

I started this blog because I myself was “fed up of being poor” but also I heard this phrase so many times I felt I had to do something myself to change my life and then I could inspire and help others. My dream is to be financially free.

I appreciate that when people think of the word “poor” they may think of third world poverty, the sort of poverty that’s on the news but what about the poverty that’s in front of us, on our doorsteps in our own neighborhoods ,people going without food or heat or hiding from bailiffs, or homeless, roofless, going to food banks. This could be you, or your best friend of family, or your nurses, you may not even know their financial situation and that they are struggling.

As prices rise, low income families find it increasingly hard to pay for the same basic essentials. Sam Royston Chair of End Child Poverty and Director of Policy and Research at the Children’s Society.,  said ‘No family in modern Britain should be struggling to put food on the table, heat their homes and clothe their children.

I stand with poverty charities such as “End Child Poverty” that work hard to campaign and make a difference.

Finances are often a private matter, and while you may get some who flaunt their wealth, the harsh reality is that finances often cause arguments and relationship break downs.

In-depth Relate study highlights links between debt and relationships

One in seven (14%) GB adults in debt has hidden debt from a partner, and half of these (7%) are currently doing so, according to a new report published today by leading relationship support charity, Relate. Feeling ashamed about debt is the number one reason why people hide it from their partner, with over half (51%) giving this reason. This was followed by being scared of their partner’s reaction (46%) and feeling they had different approaches to money (34%).

“Anyone can fall into poverty.”

Anyone can feel poor, anyone can feel fed up.

Just when you think finances in relationships can be a sticking point and danger ground.. let us add more fuel.

With mental illness and mental health issues on the rise.

‘Debt and mental illness are a marriage made in hell” says Martin Lewis…

However the same article offers support and a  “How to cope strategy”

It is hard struggling to live on the min wage or benefits.  I have struggled to make ends meet as I tried to keep my head above water. I am not entitled to any benefits but I was on them several times at different occasions in my life.

I ended up in debt and no matter how I tried I struggled to wipe this debt.
With the cost of living going up, debts growing I began to struggle. I got fed up.

Late January 2018  I said to myself, “I was fed up of being poor“,so I decided to take action. This blog shares with you my journey, but also full of hints and tips to help others.

If you have found yourself here, and can relate to my journey, it would be good to connect with you.
